- Hello,
-
- I have had a lot of experience with Rockwell chips recently (I do
- on-site installation and troubleshooting for a local ISP). What I
- have seen in the other responses is only partially true (based on my
- experience). First of all, twcomm.drv is not a BETTER driver than the
- windows default (comm.drv), it is only DIFFERENT. There is a line in
- your windows\system.ini file like:
- comm.drv=????.drv (usually comm.drv, twcomm.drv or wrpi.drv).
-
- If it is not, you PROBABLY need to install drivers that give you the
- error correction features that are not built into the modem
- (twcomm.drv does, but is not designed specifically for Rockwell based
- modems).
-
- If ANYBODY would like more information on exactly how to get and
- install these drivers, please send me personal e-mail.
